Leichhardt Council, in conjunction with Compost Happens will demonstrate composting & wormfarming outside its Town Hall to promote to the community the benefits of onsite management of organics, to improve soils in their own backyards and courtyards, whilst combating global warming by reducing the generation of greenhouse gases in landfill. See a no-dig raised garden bed replanted with companion plants, perfect for organic backyard/courtyard herb and veggie garden plot. Compost bins and worm farms are available for sale on the day from the Council’s Citizen Services Centre. |
